Avs Acquire Devon Toews From Isles For Draft Picks

The New York Islanders have traded defenseman Devon Toews to the Colorado Avalanche, the Isles announced Monday.

In exchange, the Avs surrendered second-round picks in the 2021 and 2022 NHL drafts.

Maple Leafs Acquire Joey Anderson From Devils For Andreas Johnsson

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has acquired forward Joey Anderson from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for forward Andreas Johnsson.

Anderson, 22, split his 2019-20 season between the New Jersey Devils and Binghamton Devils (AHL). In 18 games with New Jersey, he recorded four goals and two assists, and had 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 44 games with Binghamton.

The New Jersey Devils acquired defenseman Ryan Murray from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday for a fifth-round pick in the 2021 draft.

The 27-year-old Murray, the No. 2 overall pick in 2012, had two goals and seven assists in 27 games last season with the Blue Jackets, and had one goal in nine playoff games.

Kings Acquire Lias Andersson From Rangers For Draft Pick

The Los Angeles Kings acquired forward Lias Andersson from the New York Rangers in exchange for the 60th overall pick in today’s NHL Draft, according to Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake.

Andersson, a 6-1, 190-pound native of Smogen, Sweden, appeared in 17 games last season with the Rangers, posting one point (0-1=1). He has appeared in 66 games since making his NHL debut during the 2017-18 season, posting nine points (3-6=9).

Trade action is heating up on the second day of the NHL draft.

The Pittsburgh Penguins got the movement started Wednesday by trading two-time Stanley Cup-winning goaltender Matt Murray to the Ottawa Senators. Minutes later, the Nashville Predators dealt former Penguins forward Nick Bonino and two picks to the Minnesota Wild for Luke Kunin and a selection later in the draft.

The Blue Jackets acquired center Max Domi and a third-round pick from the Canadiens for winger Josh Anderson, who hasn't played since December and had his 2019-20 season ended by surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

The Minnesota Wild traded goalie Devan Dubnyk and forward Ryan Donato to the San Jose Sharks in two deals Monday, continuing their makeover under general manager Bill Guerin.

For Donato, the Wild received a third-round pick in the 2021 draft. The Sharks parted with their fifth-round pick in the 2022 draft for Dubnyk and received Minnesota's 2022 seventh-rounder in return.

The Ottawa Senators acquired defenseman Josh Brown from the Florida Panthers on Friday for a fourth-round pick (95th overall) in Tuesday's NHL draft.

The 26-year-old Brown had three goals, five assists and 39 penalty minutes in a career-high 56 games with the Panthers last season.
